The world is becoming more and more connected and social media platform cannot be ignored by businesses. Microsoft Social Engagement was released last year in an effort to help businesses reach out and engage with their customers and prospects on a personalised level.
In November Microsoft released a few exciting enhancements to their Social Engagement platform.
Direct Publishing to Multiple Social Media Channels
Prior to this recent release, businesses could not proactively publish posts from with Microsoft Social Engagement or respond to customer posts. The recent update allows users to post directly to a number of linked social accounts. Whether this update allows users to attach media files (pictures and videos) to their posts is still unknown. As a business this feature helps your marketing team to respond to posts almost instantly and work productively.
Filtering Social Posts Based on Links to Dynamics CRM Records
Inside sales and customer support teams use Dynamics CRM for tracking sales leads and customer issues respectively. Microsoft has initially provided users with the ability to easily generate new leads or record customer issues in CRM based on their social posts. This recent update however allows users to filter social media posts based on if there is an existing record in CRM that matches the social media post.

The ability to filter and manage CRM records based on social activity is a very useful function for marketing heads to determine is the lead is a viable prospect or not. The leads and prospects can thus be effectively categorised and managed by marketing, sales and customer support teams.
Improved Language Detection with Microsoft Translator
Microsoft Social Engagement now integrates with the Microsoft Translator API to offer improved language detection. This enables businesses to find and respond to social media posts in languages other than the pre-defined languages. This release is expected to cover 20 search languages for data acquisition and 15 languages for application translations.
